Post #15- Saint Valentine Day

          Today is a great day because was a casual day in school and a special reason to recognize the friendship of all the people that I admire. Chocolates, roses, and gifts are the symbol of gratitute to all the people that we love. I reflex about this special day and how impact every person feeling and traditions. In my times a good gift is about brand or how big is the gift. We have been part of economical changes and the newspaper and the Television promotes the commercialization for this special day.  I have heard about my grandfathers and grandmothers that Saint Valentine in their times was simple. They took a little time to write a letter to express from their heart what they feel and how glad were them with the companion of their friends and family. The dinner was the complement and celebration in each house for special moment to be all together. Each neighbor used this moment to share food and take a little time to talk with the neighborhood. This tradition probably created a great bond between the people and promoted the family values that we really need in our times.  My present time is special but I want to conserve also the tradition of the past. Our families need to have more time together and recognize that Saint Valentine means union for all of us.

Post #14- Missing People

Hello, I will be talking about a theme that impacted the Puerto Rico newspaper past week. The theme is about missing people and about the twins sisters Ginarie and Julianette, fourteen years old, from Arecibo who was reported missing after witnesses saw them jumping the school fence and getting inside a car. This news is one that the people worry about because bad people is looking for kids and ladies to satisfied and do bad things. Missing people worry me because I do sports at nights and I have friends who do sports very late in the nights and in unsecure places. My parents are always with me and that give me confident but I know many kids that are alone during the practice and wait for them after they finished. In my rowing practices I tried to be always with a partner and watching the surrounding. The news of the twins is bad because many people care about this situation and the parent think the worst about it. I know that the crime is arising and we are exposed to difficult moment but we can do things to minimize risks. Parents and sons need to communicate better and be together. We need to be honest about telling the true and where we are going with our friends. We all are responsable of our act and we can prevent this kind of situation.

Post #13- Keep Positive!

Blessings to all. In today's post I'll be talking about how we always can be animated and positive in life for one to move forward. Unfortunately life brings good and bad times. Nobody likes to have moments of pain, we all want to be happy and never have concerns. I would like to go back to those moments when one was smaller and  maybe the concerns was if you missed an episode of Barney or something with nonsense. I miss being with my grandmother every day and now I have to go to school every day and after do my homework. Unfortunately when one gets older, you acquire more responsibilities. When I have bad moments I remember a slogan that I learned as a little boy and am that: Life is not a manual, sometimes the pain can make you to stop but you have to continue. When I think that slogan I remember that is law of life to sometimes do not have the moment that you would like to have but you must learn to move forward. My grandfather has always been a positive and fighter man which I always wanted to be at least half of what he is. He has taught me much about life and said that you have to be always being exemplary and never call attention doing negative things. My grandfather is an imminent person and is very loved by many because he always been there to help others and because it is a good worker. He has 73 years and still working hard with my grandmother defending others in courts. He can’t see another person sad so he will try to make the problems disappear. But the trick of all is to always be positive and never lose the faith.

Post #12- Violent Video Games Will Cause Bahavior Problems

Good evening everyone. On this day I will be talking about a problem that I saw today and are video games in minor persons. It is typical to go to Game Stop and found young people wanting to buy violent games that they think that are the best. Today the little ones are not interested in games that are educational or just for entertaining. Generations from now everyday face better technology and more sophisticated games. The teenagers are the main culprits of playing violent games in front of minors and war games like Call of Duty and any other games of slaughter. Minors should not be seeing or playing games of damage because they may think that the game is good and act like that on the streets. The first mistake that can make an adult is to buy a violent game to his son. There should be laws to prohibit children from playing with this type of game and should penalize anyone who contradicts the law. Playing games of slaughter is like  training to be a criminal in real life if the person does not have the maturity to be allowed to play accordingly. A few months ago in a neighborhood were detonating guns, and a person could recognize his weapon by the sound that was heard and he learned about guns in video games. After it was found that the gun that was used was that he could hear. The point of all is that the games are created so real that a child that has no maturity can cause a serious problem in life.

Post #11- Healthy Life

           Hi everyone. In today's blog would like to talk about how being in sports can help you not to be on bad ways and distracting you from the drugs. Since one is small in the school promotes physical education and health classes for a better life. Not only in the school sports should be promoted, but parents must also counsel and integrate their children to play sports or outdoor activities. The sport has no sex; we all must do if we want to be healthy for many years. I understand that the school failed to do field days only through eighth grade because when one is bigger the competition gets better and we are one of the few schools that are without making try outs participating in Justas and no one is advised to go as a group and support our school. I think that this kind of activities is those that really help as a group to join more and it is a completely happy day. Someone’s think that field days are a off day but when they gets there they are the first to be screaming and super happy. Many like me are in several sports and it helps to be distracted from bad thoughts. I think it must be a balance between studies and sports, do not study a lot without making exercises or playing all the time and leaving school behind. I understand that in the time that we are living sports should be more encouraged for not having people in the street without doing something and instead of making diets is more effective to take a moment with a relative or friend to walk talking with him.

Post #10- Don't Abuse!

          Hello friends. The post I will be doing today is one of the most common problems which occur daily in many parts of the world and even in Puerto Rico. The case is about child abuse. Child abuse was a conflict that has persisted since the people and civilizations of ancient times where the kids were used for sacrifices and rituals. Doesn’t exist a single definition of this abuse but the most acceptable is all type of actions that goes against the adequate physical or mental of a child. The physical abuse is when a child receives in excess shots and when it cannot defend. One can see if the child has passed through abuse if he has bumps, cracks, punctures, burns, bites and many other types. Emotional abuse can be caused by anyone who hurts with his words to another or even make fun of him. In schools especially exist bullies. Honestly when I see a bully they makes me fun because they are some people who are empty on the inside and making fun of people they attract attention and make things no matter the damage that can caused to the other person. At least in the school that I am I don’t know a bully who make damage to others persons but in the outside they are a lot. There are protections to anyone who have passed from any type of abuse. My opinion is that nobody has the right to see other people less because ultimately we are all equal and instead of making fun of others we should help mutually to have a better society.

Post #9- Barea's Role with Minnesota Timberwolves

          The acquisition of Jose Barea with the NBA team Minnesota Timberwolves has provided the key element of experience for this young team. This talent team arrived in last position in the Western Conference last year unknowing the factor of winning. The team made the worst record of the league and frustration between the players. Barea coming from an excellent and championship tournament with the Dallas Maverics has already made history with the new team. He has teached to the players attitude and leadership to obtain more winnings with the best teams of the league. He has provided confidence and dedication and has the respect of his mates. The team has 13 wins and 12 loses. If they win today with the Memphies Grizzlies will be four games in the row. Barea also has provided for a new spanish prospect Ricky Rubio direction and tutor for the comunication between the team. Rubio could be a freshman of the year if he continue like he is playing now in the season. Barea has been in the selection of the Puerto Rico Team a serious player and a leader. He has proved to our island the feeling of sportmanship and competition. Now is time for Barea to give to his new NBA team the clue to unite young players for all in one. I am sure that Minnesota will win a lots of game and I will be proud to have our JJ Barea in that team.

Post #8- Who Killed Lorenzo?

Hi all. On this day I will discuss the case of the little boy Lorenzo. This is the death of a child of seven years that was killed the day March 9, 2010. Soon this case will serve two years since his death and this case is still not been solved. This event originated in his own house. Lorenzo appeared severely beaten and his mother Ana Cacho took him to the CDT of Dorado.  The Justice Department is still investigating this case. So far it appears that his two sisters were at home with his mother and claims that in same night, three men passed by the home. His sisters are now under the custody of his father. In this case neither the mother Ana Cacho nor anyone is providing information to clarify the case more quickly. They have created walks and activities to support the clarification of this case and to make people aware of what happened but apparently nobody has decided to speak and have delayed the investigation. The Cacho family are the most suspected of the incident and neither the own mother cooperates to do justice to their child and they have had many lawyers during the investigation.  Honestly this case I have hated it because it is not just solved. The Justice Department has little to do if the mother (that is supposed to be in the house) does not speak or provide evidence. She contradicts herself in many occasions because she asks to do not look for the guilty of the murder and then she wants justice for her son. I understand that there are a lot of money on this case and that there are people so bad to kill a small child of seven years and then to don’t have the courage to face the consequences.

Post #7- Say No To Drugs

          Hi all. In today's blog I will talk about one of the biggest problems found in Puerto Rico. The big problem is drugs. The most important thing is not the drugs, are the harmful effects that could cause if they are used in the wrong way. In these times in the streets exist wars between who rule the drug point and who will be the leader.  The federals have captured the great leaders of the points and still in search of them. There is no better solution to face the situations in front without fear instead to be living in hiding of drugs. Also many people get on drugs to make money easily without having to work hard and they don’t take in mind that drugs will make you to end in one of two options: death or in jail. Another consequence of drugs is that it can cause severe diseases such as hepatitis or cirrhosis. There are lots of diseases caused by drugs but these are the most common. This problem is very similar to the second blog that I did of alcoholism. There are also young people who get in drugs to attract the attention or to say that they use it because they are passing through difficult situations and drugs will help them. People who are passing on difficult situations should look for help before to prevent major problems. Many people when they become prisoners realize that they took the wrong way and repent, so I recommend the people stopping using them and do not affect the family. The result will end up under prison bars or will cost the life.

          Good Evening Friends. In today’s blog I will be talking about technology. In this moment of our lives, technology had become a great need for the majority of the persons and it is very useful for every occasion or necessity. Day to day technology is advancing more and devices are going to be more complex. People who do not know much about technology should learn to use them because it will facilitate their lives and will bring many types of benefits. For example the Internet is the more powerful tool for the people in the world and it brings many types of resources and services. Before, not many people knew about the Internet but lately become known in all places. The technologies also have many disadvantages. One of them is that people are failing to share more with the family and is spending a lot of time on social networks that makes one to gain nothing at all. In this time people needs more activities to have more memorable moments with the family and to strength more the nuclear family. Another problem is that newer human generations all that sees is technology and don’t have any interaction with sports and that’s the reason of why in many occasions we see many little fat nerds on “Game Stop” buying video games because from when they were small they grow with that point of importance. I think that technology always is going to be very useful in our lives but we need to have controls to use them and to keep in mind that the family comes first in everything.

PLANET EARTH

Hello Everyone! Today I'm not really motivated to write the blog like in the past which I made because today I don’t have a great day. But I will talk about news that I read in the library of my school. Today in the newspaper “El Nuevo Día” said that an international team of scientists discovered a Super-Earth orbiting in the habitable zone of its star about 22 light years from our planet, most likely to have water and life than any exoplanet. According to researchers they say that this planet is the best new candidate for liquid water and perhaps life as we know it. I find it incredible that we could find another planet with human life and well like our planet Earth. In the future would be impressive to change opinions and ideas with other living beings or even to create a friendship with them and to help each other. Something wrong with this article is that it creates doubts and differences with the religion. When I read this article its creates me doubts about the origin of the universe and if there were to find life on other planets many people would cease to believe in their religions. The new technology and inventions are moving the science very fast to find more information about the planets and getting closer to new information about the origin of the life. I really think that we cannot be alone in this world. The Universe is enormous and that could be an explanation for those people who thought many centuries ago that we are not the only species in the universe. The time will be answer to many questions about us and our destiny. This newspaper article is great news for those who believe like me that we can find similar planets and living condition as human beings.

Post #4- My visit to an Emergency Room

Emergency Room

           Since my grandfather has Alzheimer, my family has to visit different hospitals during the year. My parents talk me about the dangerous that can be staying at an emergency room.  All the visitors have all type of sickness.  Some patients have virus, cold, flu and others and these sicknesses can be transmitting us with facility.  Most of the times I stay sit down with my parents in the emergency room many hours.  We look all kind of people arriving and suffering about their conditions. Many people also have accidents that need immediate help. I think about the health of the people and the doctors who works many hours in the hospital.  The health for me is a priority in my life.  Be healthy and have a good physical and mental condition is very important, especially for the people with sickness.  I think about all the people in this place.  I saw some sick children, some lonely ancients, and mothers with children, adults and some foreign people.  But in the other side of the room I see doctors, nurses and secretaries.  I observed how the doctors help critical people first and later the other people. The doctors are very worried about their patients and try to do the best. In the emergency room are full of sick people and not too many doctors.  I think about why this people select to study medicine.  Some of the doctor study for vocation but another group is only for money.  Some good doctors stay near the patients until they leave the hospital.  Other doctors do not help sufficient and many sick people stay long hours waiting for them. I hope in the future the doctors help more the people when they go to the hospital.  The patients want a good treatment and the hospital has to care of all of them in the emergency room.   I am trying to be in good condition everyday and I pray to God to bless my family and my friends.  

Post #3- Hope For Alzheimer's Cure

          Today, there has been a great day for me. When I finished the day at school, my grandmother picked me up as tradition. When I got at my grandmother’s home, first my brother and I sat on the dinner table and my grandmother served a big plate of rice and beans with a delicious bistec. We ate too much as usual. Then my grandmother received a call from my grandfather’s home care.  About seven years ago my grandfather was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. At 56 years old my grandfather started to suffer this disease. The family of my mom has been experiencing many life changes related of this sickness. When my grandfather started to lose his mind all the doctors recommended moving him to a home that will help him with his disease. He in many occasions when he went to the supermarket he missed many things that he will have to bring at home. The Alzheimer I think that is the worst disease because you see all the process of the sickness to a point that the person does not remember either you. One important thing that has to be when a person has Alzheimer's is the union of the family because they all have to accept the disease and help where needed. One of the worst things is to remember that this member was in the past with you well and enjoying life and one day that person forget everything and do not remember you. Right now my grandmother unfortunately is alone at her house and she visits her husband who can’t remember her. I will never forget the grandfather I had when younger and honestly I don’t wish this experience to anyone.

Post #2- Alcoholism

          Hi Everyone! First of all let me say that I really like to have the opportunity to write in our English class blog. Throughout the day I've been thinking about the second post that I need to do and my decision is to talk about alcoholism. This is an important issue that really worries me since I went to "Las Fiestas de las Calles de San Sebastian" that was celebrated in San Juan. During that weekend, I met with many friends that I know and many who I believed that are calm people was drinking alcohol without any control or responsibility. I ask myself which are the reasons of drinking in excess in activities that are to enjoy with friends and to have a good time. I do not have explanation why these people react like that. The explication that makes me more sense is that people want to feel for a moment that are big or to feel the attention in that negative way. They think that drinking alcohol is the better way to celebrate in this kind of activity. In this issue I am referring to persons who yet don't have authorization to legally ingest alcoholic beverages even also I didn't agree that adults get drunk, but they are older to take the own decisions that they want. I think that instead of young people get drunk in hiding from their parents, should be drunk in front of them to see what they think about it. Also is the responsibility of the parents to be near of their children supporting them in what they need and giving them good advices. Their advices will be always the right way in the life.

          What's Up People! I'm really excited because this will be my first blog on this website. Well, first let me say that I created this blog for a requirement in my English class and this will count for a lot of points. In the computer class the teacher is preparing us and giving the necessary tools to create and edit a blog with facility. The creation of this blog will help me to give my opinion and express my ideas in an entertaining way in my computer. What I will be writing in this blog can help me and my lectors to think about how others face the situations in life.

          First I'm going to talk about the Scientific Fair in my school. Today was the first day that judges evaluate the projects in the school. All the investigators need to have at least three evaluations for the grade. The first judge who evaluated my project made me many pointed questions regarding the objective of my project. The second judge really doesn't know about the material that my project have but we exchange ideas. Then, the final judge call me to evaluate my project and he made me a suspenseful moment because he did some key questions about the experiment that I made. 

          When I finished the evaluations I felt very good because this is my last year making projects for the scientific fair and the positive side of today is that I completed all the evaluations in the same day and I'm sure that I made my best.
